11 - KAS IDE – Reading and Writing Parameters for Non-Standard I/O
The user will need to know the addresses/offset or index of the parameters for non-standard I/O items. This can be obtained by looking at the Device Image and Process Data tab in the EtherCATEtherCAT is an open, high-performance Ethernet-based fieldbus system. The development goal of EtherCAT was to apply Ethernet to automation applications which require short data update times (also called cycle times) with low communication jitter (for synchronization purposes) and low hardware costs Configurator.

In KAS there are some function that allows the user to access any place of the PDO using the offset and the size of the data.
In order to know those two values, it is useful to expand the “Process Data” view to see the exchanged values, their size and their offset. Example of data index offset and size for non-standard I/O item shows the mapping for the EL2008 Digital Output module. (42.0 to 42.7)
